The G55, 'nuff said.
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

Here is a stat sheet I quickly made.
The ram on the G51jx goes up to 4GB with the i5 and 8GB with the i7.
The ram on the G72gx goes up to 6144MB, which is 6GB.
The Hard Drives will vary depending on where you purchased them from.
EDIT
The removal of the G72's Graphics card requires a full disassembly. I believe that the G51 only requires removing the back panel and taking out some screws.Last edited by Thx1138; 07-28-2012 at 04:18 PM.

Thanks for the replies! The model of the g51jx is the x1 i believe? I have an i7 and 8gb of ram. Im not sure what my brother has. Is the GTS 360 better? The only reason why i would want my brothers G72 is because it looks a lot nicer and a bigger screen.

My question is this: "Why get either when the G55/G75 systems are out?" The i7 is the original Nehalem architecture, which is now about 2.5 years old. The Core 2 Duo architecture is even older. Definitely forget about either of those systems unless you have serious budget constraints and are buying used. Get the G55 if you like portability, but otherwise the G75 is a really sweet system, I have seen it. The G55 would take a dump on your brother's computer when it comes to performance...and it looks cooler too.

I already have the G51gx. I would love to upgrade to something better but the only option i have is either sell mine and get my brothers. or just keep mine. Thats why i was wondering which was better between the two. Deffinietly in the future, i'll upgrade to something better. I do love how the g55 look.

As I said before, the G51 has better upgrade/re-paste options than the G72 has. With the G51, all you need to do is take off a panel to access the graphics card for a re-paste. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.) With the G72, a full disassembly is required for the graphics card re-paste.Last edited by Thx1138; 07-30-2012 at 03:04 PM. Reason: Fixing links.

Thats great to know that and in that case i'll keep the g51 because i would like to upgrade it in the near future if it is necessary. It seems like the GTX 260 is better. The first two links are dead. I couldnt see anything. Which one is more reliable? Less prone to overheating? because sometimes when i have the time i like to game for 4-6 hrs. lol i know, lame. and I lost all my oem programs when i had the laptop restored and i was wondering if you know of a way to get the turbo back on the laptop? I thought i download the program but it had the different settings like quiet office or Entertainment but no turbo setting on performance mode.
