? About offset freq & voltage spikes at idle

I installed the remote ROG software on my laptop and have been watching the graph. I notice the voltage and freq will spike at idle, is this normal? I have checked with a volt meter also. I'm curious why at idle the CPU freq & voltage needs to throttle up and down so much?

Hi there! 🙂

I presume it is just background activity and programmes/services, anti virus, all the normal stuff going on in the background. Idle actually means quite busy!

Idle does not really mean that with most PC's these days. Their are so many back ground applications or services that run. File indexing is one that will cycle every couple of minutes, but there are heaps more.

What you can do is see if the active process's correlate with what you are seeing on ROG connect.
