    difference between the g series models

    Whats the main difference between all of the G series gaming laptops (G55, G51, G53, G72, G73, G74. G75) and which would you consider the absolute best? Price doesn't matter and I currently own the G75VW-DS72.

    Thanks in advance.

    In all honesty the best way to find out is comparing the specs.

    Putting it simply for you though the higher the number the better the specs

    The 5 or 7 indicates either a 15" or 17" display, respectively. The 2nd number is the generation so the higher the 2nd number is the newer the model is. Beyond that, just as Silver Wolf said you should look for specs that meet your needs.

    Unless you want quad-SLI with GTX690s! I run my G53SX and it is more than enough for me. The letters have the number also indicate something:
    G__ JH == Nehalem + 5870M
    G__ JW == Nehalem + GTX460M
    G__ SW == Sandy Bridge + GTX460M
    G__ SX == Sandy Bridge + GTX560M
    G__ VW == IVy Bridge + GTX660M/GTX670M

    The G53SX and G74SX are the brothers in the line-up, though the "revision" number is different. I heard tell that the G54 design was going in a direction of being even thicker, so it was scrapped, and the G53SX was introduced in its place as a stop-gap measure til the G_5VW came out.

    I even spent a little less and got the G75VW-BBK5 and it handles every game I play and want to up to date amzingly. But if you have the money to spend a little more go get a better version of the G75VW-BBK5. But this is perfect for my needs.

    Correct, I edited the offending post. Before anyone gets mad , that link style is exactly what the spam bots use.

    Gx, gl ?

    This thread is close, but not quite right. Would someone please just briefly describe the difference between the GX and the GL series.
