G74SX USB 3.) not recognized as 3.0

I've noticed this issue before, but never took the opportunities to act on it. My USB 3.0 input is not reading at 3.0 speeds, and I get the "This devide will perform faster if plugged into a USB 3.0..." message when I plug in true 3.0 devices...

What gives?

Are there Asus-specific drivers? And if so, where could I find the link? Responding from my phone, but would like to quickly access it when I get back to my rig.

It's also good to note that the drive DOES read, just not at the proper speeds...

Installed Fresco Logic USB 3.0 v3.5.4.0, still does not recognize as a 3.0 usb port.

Dumb question, but are you trying to read/write from a device that is USB 3.0 compatible? Like, if you use a USB 2.0 device in a 3.0 slot, you will not get the 3.0 speeds because the 2.0 cannot work at those speeds.

hmm... has me stumped. Have you tried it on another computer with USB 3.0 slots? Is there any type of firmware for the hdd itself? Could be an issue with your slots, but you should rule out all other cases before going there.

Toshiba states it is plug&play and does not offer a driver

Cable is good, Drive is faster on other machines...

Is your bios up to date? There could be a bios issue that is causing the slots to run slower than they should... boot into your bios and note the bios number. then check the support page for your model and see if there is a newer bios.
