    FPS Drop

I have a G71GX-RX05 (Which I plan on selling and using some extra cash to build a new rig), and during games I'll get random FPS drops from 50 down to about 15. It's not due to the game action, I'm almost positive.

I have updated all drivers, and BIOS.

Do you think maybe the gpu is overheating? Would taking off the heatsink and put on some new thermal paste help? I never used to get weird fps drops like this.

77c is hot, but not unusual for a laptop GPU unfortunately. I would start with a good cleaning. Over time dust builds up even in relatively clean homes and laptop performance degrades. A can of air into the vents can make it almost as good as new.

    Okey dok. Thanks Xero!

I think during gameplay I hit like 105c, just seemed a little too hot

If the cleaning doesn't do it for you then yeah go ahead with the repaste. I just prefer the easy option first.
