broken optical adapter
last week the mini adapter broke and I figured I could just buy a new one so I did I got this
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mercury-A...ht_2948wt_1140
I ordered 3 of them and none work the cable worked fine before the adapter broke so I'm not sure if its the cable or not so I ordered a new one just to make sure http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3m-Toslin...ht_3382wt_1140
hopefully this fixes my problem and stops the need for an adapter
I got this card for the simple option of switching from optical to headphones with a click of a button and being able to turn down the headphones with the control box, I didn't care about the lack of settings my amp can make up for that
but supplying a cheap flimsy plastic adapter that breaks easy isn't the smartest idea
I'm hoping the card accepts new cables/adapters if not thats gotta be the dumbest design idea I have ever seen but so far having no luck getting it working after the broken adapter
and why would you have not added a proper optical adapter like other cards have been doing for years now?
I had this exact same problem with the d2x (as well as other optical related issues) now I have 2 expensive soundcards that I can't use at the moment and its really annoying
I'll report back when the new cable arrives with an updateLast edited by satan4u; 09-10-2012 at 07:54 AM.
