Max>>My son and I built this over the Thanksgiving holiday 2013. It was our first build and everything went well... it booted right up.

    Truly great.

Nothing beat the feeling you pass on to your son, when putting a computer together with dad, and then let him have it all by himself.. he is bragging in front of his fiends now i am sure..

Great Dad, cool build, good builds boot right up..

The fire-extinguisher, is that a safety perfection / 5,5ghz total meltdown?, and a lack of home insurance?

I think i speak for all of us builders when i say that the first time we put the a computer together, and hit the power button, we believe sparks is going to fly (for some of us, they do), and junior is going look something like this..

always good to play it safe..

the only downer ive had with this board is the faulty connector on the OC Panel. I bought the maximus vi extreme from OCUK and it arrived with the oc panals data connection port missing the locking mechanism... I didn't notice until I'd finished my build
unfortunately after dismantelling the side of my case and fitting the oc panal I screwed everything in and shut the pc case door and moved everything back into place... I came back 5 min later to find the oc panal non functional... the data cable had fallen out. so I quickly plugged it back in and as soon as my hand left the connection it stopped updating the reading... asus support say I have to return the Entire package to get the oc panal replaced and so does OCUK.. so im guttered... which brings me to my reason for telling you about it... I'd like to fix it myself, there must be a way to get the cable to stay in TIGHT. if it just connects loosly it doesn't work. there has to be a snug connection...

heres hoping someone has a good idea... in retrospect I probably should make a new thread for this... cheers !!!
