Post Asus ROG G75VW RAM Specification

Hello ROG members and thank you for reading my thread!
I want to buy the Asus G75VW-T1028D:
Intel Core i7 Ivy Bridge (2.3ghz-3.3ghz) 6 mb cache
750 gb HDD SATA 7200 RPM
    12GB OF RAM 1600MHZ
    GTX 670M DDR5 with 3 gb.

These are the specification and I will buy this laptop next week.I want to buy it with a 4 GB RAM Module.
All I want to know is:
-What kind of RAM does this laptop use ?(SAMSUNG,LENOVO,KINGSTON,CORSAIR ETC.)
-If I will add a 4 GB of ram from the brands that I mentioned from the previos question will it work ?Or all four of them must be
    the same brand?

Oh man, this is a complex problem.

RAM might be Hynix or Elpida, CL11 [at] 1600Mhz.

Note that there are 4 RAM modules, but 2 are hidden and you cannot replace or add RAM there without losing warranty.

So if you buy a G75 with 8Gb of RAM, you will be fine. Asus will use the hidden modules.

If you want to add 4 Gb to those, do you really need to do this? Do you use some VM or video editing that needs this? If not, you will do much better with 8Gb dual channel or put another 8 to have a total of 16.

If you still want to put another 4Gb, things are not that easy. First, mixing RAM modules even from the same brand, but different specs might not work at all and the laptop will not start. Second, if you want to keep the RAM at 1600Mhz, you need to buy RAM with the exact same specs (it's like CL 11-11-11-28 if I remember this right).

I think it's less complex than you think. @ErKs just wants to fill the last empty slot.

You're right, I did not see those specs.

One module with Cl 11-11-11-28 should work fine.
