My UX-31E does the same thing

This ultrabook has been doing the same thing as you other guys have been reporting. I sent it into Asus for repair, at which time they replaced the system board in it. Since it has been returned, it has been consistently turning itself on after I have clearly been turning it off.

I have played with most of the power settings, advanced and otherwise, on this thing, to no avail. I just read above about the Instant On feature, and now that person had managed to fix it by uninstalling that. I think for this first experiment I will just disable that feature and see what happens.

I'll report back if I solve the problem.

This is a hardware problem, easily fixed

    Method:
    Remove back cover
    Locate battery-flat cable connector
Fiddle around until the connector is released
    Assemble in the reverse order
    Problem solved
Fixed UX21E and UX31E using this method

    Sincerely HL/Sweden

I have the same problem, but it started when I replace Win 7 with Win 8.1 and I don't have "instant on" instaled.
Any one tried that hardware solve?

    Power on issue

    Hi

    I have the exact problem.

    UX31E with i7 and 256GB SSD version

I installed win 8.1 instead of 7 in original

It is independent of the OS

It was very usual when the service has renewed my motherboard due to another problem (it was sudden power cuts)

It is much rare now. However, still turns on 3-4 times in a week.

If there is a solution, please let me know.
