Question CTRL+I Not Working @ Intel Raid Option during BIOS boot

    As the title says...

I even tried a second keyboard; a basic Logitech Internet 350. Tried several times and at last I had to reconfigure my raid 0 via windows.

Any reason why this would happen??

I had a similar problem. Make sure both your SSDs are plugged into the same controller (Intel or AsMedia). Then make sure they are detected in the BIOS and your SATA configuration is set to RAID.

Ive also had another problem where the keyboard wasn't powering quick enough to hit key combos. There is an option in the BIOS somewhere that tells it to power all USB devices at post and not wait till windows load. This affect boot time.

I have all of my drives and ODD connected to intel SATA ports, including the SATA 2 port near front panel USB connectors. The 2 ssds on raid 0 is connected to the SATA 3 ports for optimal bandwidth, my 120GB ssd (OS drive) and ODD is connected to SATA 2 ports and the WD HDD is connected to the SATA 2 port at the bottom of the board. SATA type is configured for RAID, and I see the Intel RAID detail screen as well, and all the drives connected to the intel ports are properly displayed during the boot. But when I hit CTRL+I nothing happens. I have tried bios 2 and also performed a CMOS clear just in case!! I have also disabled the fast boot option, so your second suggestion doesn't account for, at least in this case, as all USB and other ports should be properly initializing (this is one of those settings I change in the first place)!

just to make sure, both SSDs are connected to the top row of red ports (right below black ones), correct? because those belong to Intel native controller and SATAIII/6G ... black ones are for SATAII/3G intel natives. both rows of other red ports are asmedia sataIII/6G (not for bootable devices, only storage).

and RAID mode is enabled in BIOS (instead of default AHCI), right?

Yeah man! The 2 240Gigs are connected to the red ports next to the black ports (it's a column not a row, I think ). And I do have raid option enabled in bios. I can see the raid info screen but the shortcut doesn't work for me to enter the raid setup screen. And, also, I hate using non-intel ports for some reason. I prefer intel even though its SATA 2 rather than asmedia/Marvell SATA 3.

interesting... let me switch my BIOS to RAID mode and see if I can get into it ...

column or row, no matter, all depends on how you look at it anyways, it seems you have the right ports. I assume the devices are correctly showing up in BIOS under Intel sata3/6G ports (SATA6G_1 & SATA6G_2)?

    be back in a few,

it looks like a BIOS bug to me ... I can't enter the RAID config utility (CTRL+I) either! it doesn't recognize the keyboard combination. I am using a USB keyboard here, any chances you have some spare PS2 keyboard lying around to try out?

other than that, you could flash back to BIOS 604 or 257, see if it works, set the RAID config in the utility and then flash back to 704 (for better stability) and go from there

also, I'd let ASUS support know about this issue (impact functionality on current latest BIOS).

Thx for trying that out, mate! However it did work once yesterday, after I switched the second cable (data cable) of my corsair k90 keyboard to another USB port below. Dunno if it had anything to do with keyboard's data cable or if its got to do with too many USB devices being used in one row. Atm it worked (once only) with keyboard on the white, mouse next to it and nothing else on next two ports!!!
