Just ordered my new Maximus V Formula yesterday, can't wait, like a kid on Christmas morning.

and we know the feeling. I was very close to order one this week but my 2011 is costing me more than I tough,so it will wait another month. It will be to replace the Rampage III Gene in my son PC.

Hello everyone, i'm new to this forum and saw this and i think i'll be joining you guys soon,
I've got a Asus maximus V formula in order along with some other nice components and probably going to receive them during end of the week
and will post a photo as soon as i will get the build done.

And if anyone's interested the Hardware i'm getting into Asus with (earlier on evga and palit) :

RAM: 32GB 1600Hz G.Skill RipJawz
CPU: intel Core i7 3770k probably some clocking to come..

SSD: Samsung 250GB 840
PSU: Corsair 1250W Digital 80Platinum
Optical: Asus BluRay

And we are wrapping the whole thing into a CoolerMaster Cosmos II

Hi everyone, I am also new to the ROG community and I have just completed a build with the maximus v extreme. All is well except for one thing, I got the G.Skill Trident X 2800 Mhz 16 Gb kit. In the bios it says RAM target speed is 1600 Mhz. so I changed the memory frequency to 2800 mhz. but the pc shut off booted up and said overclcoking failed. So I set the
memory frequency to 2400 Mhz and is stable. Is there something I am doing wrong that the RAM isn't running at 2800 mhz.? If anyone can shed a little light on this subject I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

the mobo is rated to 2400 if im not wrong?
you will not gain enny thing realy from the speed of the rams.
its not noticable on normal use.
every setings abow 1600MHZ ( i think it is ) is a overclock.
