Hello All, I hope everything is well for every Asus enthusiast!

As we all know our MB's are capable of amazing clocks, scores, and benchmarks, especially in the sub-zero realm. So I was wondering from other members... What are the best OC's ppl have achieved with just air, water, closed loop systems, etc with our Extreme and Formula MB's.
Please be detailed, I've been doing ALOT of research with what to expect out of our MB's with the other components i.e. processors, ram,etc and I've noticed that sometimes the other components quality isn't as good as our boards amazing design/manufacture quality which seems to hold us back at achieving what we may want with our MB's

So I thought this may be a good discussion topic as it relates to our finely crafted motherboards!

Bruce, I think, doing it from the Ai Suite is the worst thing you can do... better use the USB method from BIOS... - it's just a humble opinion... if you really want to do it from OS (Ai Suite), at least make sure that your system is stable... very stable!

I am only going to use the USB method as an emergency recovery, if one of the two bios chips needs reflashing and I cannot gain access into windows, otherwise the AI Suite is beautifully simple and works just as well.

I try not to create any more complexity in my system than is truly needed, bios flashback seems much too complex just for a simple update, I've had no issues, beyond PLX reconfiguring, so as long as it stays sweet, I'll keep loving it, and keep it simple.
I totally agree with MeanBruce... (but this wasn't always the case). If one should have any other MB that only has "one" BIOS chip then I would agree with you Zka17. But don't forget we're special As you should know our MB's have two BIOS chips! So BIOS corruption is a near non-issue for us, if you flunk one just boot to the other and then re-flash the second! And for this reason I agree with MeanBruce.

It is my intention to purchase a third BIOS chip from Asus for $15.00 and keep it locked away in case the absolute worst should happen.

    I hope this helped

this week is the worst day of my life, my 7850 just died on me -_- i have to rma it back to singapore.

    anyhow proud owner of MVF

    as regarding to back-reads

i honestly believe Z, even hiViz told me that the os was too complex by complex i believe he meant the bios have to go thru the ai suite, then the os then to a pass thru somewhere and then the bios; while a dos bios flushing is much safer, the truth of the reality is unless or even your not running a very stable system you should flash the bios not thru windows, but since i was too always busy, ever since bios 07** i've been flashing thru AI SUITE

TLDR : we have to give changes chances, or else it wouldn't improve in the near future
