Brave or Stupid? Preordered FX-8350 Today

I know I probably should have waited for the reviews but I decided to take a chance. I pre-ordered the FX-8350 from BLT for $208.90. I told myself I would wait until reliable benchmarks came out but when I saw that price and recalled the 3 month wait that occurred for my FX-8150 I just couldn't stop my fingers from typing that credit card number in the boxes. The sad part is I'll probably do the same thing when steamroller comes out. Sigh!! Obsessive Compulsiveness strikes again.

Hahaha gotta love compulsive shopping huh? I too suffer from that ailment...recently bought a limited edition BluRay collection that I didnt have to buy lol, oh well no regrets!!! make sure you let us know how it goes please. i'm interested to see how the PD stacks up against the current FX CPUs 🙂

Who is BLT. I never heard of that computer retailer. Of course I live in New York . Is this a USA on-line retailer???

3 weeks ago it was selling for $268.00. I've been watching it daily and Ive checked several review sites to see how this shop was rated most were favorable some were not. But both tiger direct and newegg get some bad reviews too, so I took chance.

How about Trail Blazer? Don't worry about benchmarks they are all set up to run intel anyway.

Don't mourn, I just ordered it also from BLT 2 hours ago. I do HOPE AMD is in business and does not cancel Steamroller for FX.
When a company lays off 30% of staff. That is a very ominous sign. I think Vishera is a start in the right direction, but only a start. The thermal mesh technology is really the major achievement in this cpu. The IPC improvement appears to be very modest.
Intel should have to pay AMD another 5-6 billion for damages done. They are still signing illegal exclusivity agreements with their large customers.

UPDATE

When I ordered this CPU the ETA to warehouse was 10/30/12. Checked the site today and ETA has been pushed back to 12/13/12. I hope this is not an indication of another delay. If AMD launches on 10/23/12 as anticipated I may have to cancel my order with BLT and go with Newegg or another retailer. I'm certainly not going to wait until january.
