im really looking for an asus led monitor not lcd. feel free to suggest.
Try going through the website:
http://www.asus.com/Display/'LCD monitor' is the basic range
'IPS monitors' are better color
VG are gaming models - 120/144Hz/3D
ML/MS are designo series - upcoming edge-to-edge design soon.
LS is budget
PA/PB are ProArt/ProBusiness with very high quality IPS/PVA for deep color
LED (light emitting diode) specifically is a backlight technology. It lights the LCD (liquid crystal display) in front of it, which displays the picture.
There are four major panel types (this is a rough overview only):
TN - 6-bit, very fast, poorer color although leaps and bounds better in recent years. No more 'nuclear' colors thankfully, but more obvious grading than the rest.
eIPS - basic IPS with better color still but not as 'fast'. The happy medium for most people these days.
MVA - specialist applications like the PB278Q, I dont know much about this panel type, it's not used often.
S/PIPS - professional 8-bit applications. 'slowest' but most accurate/deepest color reproduction.
For gaming AND high-color, they are currently mutually exclusive properties unfortunately. For 3D you are entirely limited to TN as this requires 120Hz: VG278H for example is 1920x1080, 27", Nvidia 3D support. It's extremely low lag and good enough color for most people. If your photoshopping is web-only it should be fine, but for actual photos it's not - you'll need (e)IPS.
