MAX Temps for the i7 2630QM and the GTX 460m good! ASUS G73SW can be pushed high!

OK the i7 740QM were diesigned to run up to 90 degrees C before you start seeing problems...and the Newer upcomming GTX 560m also at that range supposedly...

on G73sw...the i7 2630QM...can go to 100c before damage happens...and I was more supprised that nVidia claims the GTX460m can run 105c and still run stable...

So we can realy push the G73sw much more than any other Notebooks thats awsome!

    Geforce GTX 460M Temps

Well true the Geforce GTX 460M can be pushed to high temps BUT it is not recommended. Try to shoot for 75C or less. I would say 85C would definitely be the upper limit beyond which your GPU would be red lined. Higher temperatures reduce the lifespan of the chip significantly. Also you run the risk of failure of other components on the graphics subsystem that may not take the increased ambient heat stress too well. Remember your graphics card is the sum of all the parts such as GPU, graphics memory, power subsystem and various other support devices. You have to consider the heat stress on these other parts surrounding your GPU as well.
