Dual GTX 580 Mars II
In addition to a bunch of new devices that Asus is going to show next week at Computex 2011, it appears that there will be some novelties in the graphics card department as well - the new dual-GPU Mars II limited edition card and the Matrix GTX 580.

Although it wasn't pixellized, the leaked specs suggest the new Mars II card will feature a 19-phase VRM with Super Alloy Power technology, new GPU Tweak overclocking UI and "an exclusive DirectCU cooling" with dual fan design that should keep the two GF110 GPUs running cool. The precise clocks for this one haven't been revealed but we are quite sure that Asus is holding back in order to keep some exclusivity for the Computex show.

A bit less exclusive, but equally as interesting is the upcoming Matrix GTX 580, creme of the crop when it comes to GTX 580 GPU from Asus. This one will be available in two versions, one at reference clocks and one with factory overclocking and will also feature a 19-phase VRM and a triple-slot, dual-fan DirectCU II cooler. As you would expect from a card designed for overclocking, it comes with voltage read points, Super Alloy components athe same new GPU Tweak overclocking UI.

The specs for the Matrix GTX 580 include 512 CUDA cores, a GF110 GPU clocked at either 782MHz for the standard version or 816MHz for the Platinum, 1.5GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 4008MHz and paired up with a 384-bit memory interface.

The card itself is actually a lot different than what is depicted in the spec sheet, then again the spec sheet is showing the old MARS pic. The cover itself has a Rampage heatsink look to it, or at least the latest gen of the ROG mobo heatsink design on the cover itself, which makes it pretty bad ass looking (I actually think it's awesome looking, though it's a monster sized card).

Though... I really wished they did something better on the side of the graphics card facing the window side on most gaming rigs. It just seems so weak with so many openings/gaps and a small tiny ASUS logo which I hope better lights up at the very least. I'm sure at the the back plate cover of the graphics card should have a paint design that should read ASUS MARSII GTX580 once it's under production. To see it in just plain black seems like a let down.

New too the forums, but I would like to know. I've been saving my pennies and I'm so tempted to get a MATRIX but what's the word on the MARS II release date? Any ideas or info?

I JUST saw the Matrix 580 and I LOVE the way you guys did it, excellent job! Now you just need to make a 6970 Matrix... 😛 ^^^still applies though! heh, I like to see all the io shrunk onto the lower slot so I can go single slot w\ watercooling!

Yeah less then 3 would be great, and 3gb+ built onto the card. That's why I am just a little hesitant to buy the MATRIX. Give me MARS! =D
