OK Ive been looking at reviews and it looks like the the GTX460m and GTX560m are the same GPU core...its just that Optimus will be supported this time...if there is a improvement it will be slight...

So people who prefers the G73 asthetics compared to the G74 can go on ahead since not a lot has changed...

Notebook check has the GTX 560m faster than a Ati HD6870 and clos to a GTX 470m ... which pretty much puts the performance of the GTX 560m to the same level as the ATi HD 5870 (Yes in case some dont know the 5870 is faster than a 6870)

Its just about 10% faster...

I wish they would just put a HD 5870 with a Sandy Bridge ...

ok ive run a benchmark on a laptop with an i7 2630QM, GTX 560m, 12GB DDR3 1333mhz, Raid 0 (I guess some of you already know this laptop) run free version of 3D mark vantage at FRY's...9897 points! On Turbo Boost it was 10038 Points!

Run the same free version of 3D mark vantage on my G73sw-3DE...8756 points...I cant turbo boost unless I use a 3rd party software...

so How much real difference is a 9897 points to a 8756 points?

So is the GTX 560 at the same level as the ATi Mobility 5870 HD?

So thats about 10% improvement right?

On that SW you could probably overclock that GPU to 850. I get P10193 with the OC.

Since its hard to add better cooling system on a laptop...whats the most safe and stable overclock and voltage you did on the G73SW? And what software?

Also the GTX 560m only scores a 7.2 on Windows Experience Index...The GTX 460m scores a 7.1...So I guessing you wont even be able to tell the difference on actual game play. Youll only see the difference in Benchmarking...

Yeah, probably. It's amazing how Futuremark has some people thinking that it matters how fast their programs run on your PC's. I guess OC'ing and Benching is safer and "greener" than building and racing hotrods. lol

You can get 560M's speeds with the 460M with overclocking. I got Win exp. 7.2 with my GTX460M 🙂
