I currently own a G53SW, and am thinking of upgrading to a G55 (want/need Thunderbolt). How much RAM can I put in the G55? According to the Asus site, it maxes at 16GB, but according to GenTech, I can put 32GB in it.
HI, Due to AUSU Spec. G55VW have two SKU, one is 2 DIMM slot, one is 4 DIMM slot and ASUS support 4GB for 1DIMM, but, for chepset is able to 8GB for 1 DIMM, so please ask your dealers.
Windows 7 Home Premium - which we ship the system's with - has a limit of 16GB, but Professional (and Ultimate) can access up to 192GB, so you're 32GB will work if you upgrade the OS 🙂 Buy it with 16GB already fitted, and then drop in another 16GB yourself to max it out.
