quick noob question about sata cable

Hey All, doing some re-cabling atm to make the new build look all nice and sweet, anyways just wanted to know...
the SATA cable with the L bend is meant to be plugged into the HDD, but what if i plug that L bend sata cable onto the mother board instead ?
and the straight side onto the HDD instead. it shouldnt matter right ? will it affect the speed in anyway ?

cause on the manual ( ASUS MAXIMUS V FORMULA ) it says note: connect the right angle side of the SATA signal cable to sata device.

Hi mate,, doesn't matter which way around you put them up, the sata plugs themselves only fit one way, weather straight or right angle.

Just make sure to not bent to much the cable , in some case , if you place the angle on the MB connector , the cable may bent on the computer MB tray, this may pry the MB sata connector

the reason they say that is that under normal scircumstances if you used the L-Bend side on the motherboard it would hit the backplate on the case or block the other Sata port parallel to the one you plugged it into,
but as kkn said, no it does not matter
