Hello all, this is my first post here on this board, and i must say this is really nice place, first of all sorry about my English maybe its not perfect but I'm from Rome, living in UK but originally Italian, so said that, i just wanted some advices, this is all new for me, i just finished building my system and when i was young i use to play a lot of time with OC, i had a lanparty DFI with opteron on it 🙂 such a good time 🙂 anyway now after a long time i decided to buy my new system which is the one in my signature, so based on my "understanding" i was able to reach 4.7GHz on my i7 3820 processor, with RAM at 2046MHz (1023MHz), any suggestions? any way that i can paste here my BIOS settings? i gave a try with SuperPI and i had something like 7m something seconds with a 32MB test.

Thanks in advance 🙂 any advice will be more appreciated!

Ciao and thanks for posting.

What questions were you going to ask regarding your OC?

i'm not sure if the same applies with the extreme, i assume it does, im running a formula, but in the bios there is a print screen option. simply insert a flash drive and it will give you the option of saving pics directly to the device.

once you are back on your desktop, open with ms paint or similar, and save to jpg before uploading them here.

If you want to capture pics of your BIOS use a pendrive formatted FAT 32 and press F12 🙂

Hello Xrkc6x and welcome)

It's pretty good starting point)
Could you also post some info about your rig? CPU cooling etc.
If you couldn't post BIOS screenshot you can just post some most important settings manually.
CPU mult, bclk frequency, strap, vcore dram vtt and vccsa voltage and some power settings would be enough for the beginning.

Thanks everybody, @gym right now 😄 ill post something as soon as I get home. Question, by RIG u mean?

Thx!

1st of all, you're uploaded the same screenshots twice, that's pretty much confusing.
Also we need some more info about your PC configuration (RAM model especially).

Oh man, you're made a lot of mistakes.

You can refuse your VCCSA and VTT voltages, that's for sure. 1.2 or even less. Also newer left it on auto.
Vcore is also pretty high, I guess you can lower it too.

XMP profile is not the best way to tune your RAM, this profile can contain some voltage settings that you should set manually.
As a starting point, just set timings from XMP manually.

Also it would be better if you'll set strap and multiplier manually.
You haven't posted some screenshots of important settings, I mean DIGI+ power control and CPU settings.
(Maybe you haven't set LLC so you need such high vcore)

If you wanna run some SuperPi you have to set 2nd ant 3th timings manually but that's another story.

Drop your voltages and upload some more info and we'll continue.

Edit:
Ok I've found your ram model on 32m Pi sctreenshot in SPD tab. RipjawsZ 1866 4x4 1.5v
That means you have to drop dram voltage too. 1.55-1.6 will be fine I guess.

Ok, thanks first of all! Yes now you can find correct screenshots 😉

Regarding my errors sorry, this was my first attempt 😞 I will try to apply suggested changes ill do my home works and ill come back 🙂
