Well, first you should call ASUS in your area, or message them for an RMA, making sure to enquire about the cost of your new OEM cooler. I highly doubt it will be very expensive, if it is, then you can always go the liquid route instead

Give your local ASUS RMA line a ring and explain the situation. Maybe they can just swap out the cooler 1 for 1, for a price. Then at least you have a cost to compare to. Or, search eBay for a dead 690 with perfect cooler, then swap them out?

That´s what I´m talking about. Take a google around, you should find a building log on one of those somewhere Learn the do´s and don´t´s. I learned that a particular element on my gpu back then had a hot component not cooled by either the stock cooler nor the Accelero Extreme 260, so I made sure to purchase additional small heatsinks to glue onto that, and other components as well, as there were slight variations to my board that made the enclosed heatsinks insufficient. But, made the build all the more exciting and satisfying! If you like, you could get a whole bunch of all copper heatsinks, like EnzoTech MOS-C10, and use those in stead of the enclosed aluminium ones shown here (along with a little building log ) http://hardwarelogic.com/articles.php?id=5545&page=3

Hey man, every 3rd fin cut off it can ease the balance and possibly help you keep it in original form if asus cant help.

By what I mean is take something to cut the 3rd fin off until you are back at the broken fin.

So... 0 will be a fin gone in my numbers and 1 will be a fin still there.

Since you have 9 fins, it will be like this starting at broken fin...

    0-1-1-0-1-1-0-1-1

See how that works if asus cant help you to repair.

pretty much you will have a triangle fin placement look, at 3 points with 2 fins each, missing a total of 3

Me, I'd try a very thin layer of superglue on both surfaces and glue the fin back on before anything else.....

Wouldnt bother, they spin at too many RPM's to withold the pressure from the speed of the fan as well as the pressure of the air hitting the fins.
