I don't know much about this, and from what I've tried to research, all I have heard was to just ignore it. But I keep getting a recommended update for "biOS 202" and whenever I've tried to do it, it gives me an error saying something along the lines of "file does not match ROM." If anyone has any advice on this subject that would be awesome. And also, if the advice is to ignore it like most recommendations I've read, is there any way that I can get that "recommended update" to go away? I'm slightly OCD about certain things and seeing it sit there is erking me. Thanks!

I've uninstalled ASUS Live Update. That would certainly get the "recommended update" to go away. Alternatively, Windows Update allows you to configure updates you choose not to install to not be recommended again. Perhaps ASUS Live Update has a similar feature...

I think it is good ASUS Live Update errored out on your BIOS update. Some folks have had their laptops bricked when it attempted the BIOS update using WinFlash. BIOS 202 was recommended to resolve skipped key issues on the G74SX (see http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?3076-G74SX-Keyboard-Issues-ATK-1.0.00010-BIOS-202-Available.... If you are not experiencing this, it may be best to skip this update. If you do choose to update your BIOS, you may as well choose the 203 update, as it contains all changes in 202 (and would be recommended by ASUS Live Update after you completed the 202 installation).

If you choose to update your BIOS to the 203 version, I recommend you follow @BrodyBoy's .PDF article (http://rog.asus.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=6201&d=1329792574) that discusses how to use the EasyFlash utility in your BIOS for the best chance of success. As I'm sure you've read in other threads, if anything goes wrong during a BIOS update, even with this method, there is the potential that your laptop will be rendered unusable.

I know you're from ASUS, but please don't recommend WinFlash
or the ASUS Live Update to update BIOS. Recommend the safer EasyFlash instead..

I've been in these forums long enough to know that some ROG users have bricked
their laptops using WinFlash and/or Live Update..

lynzlovesyou, two things I want to say about your issue:
1. If your laptop is stable until now, then there's no need to update BIOS.
Attempt to update BIOS only when necessary.
2. Strongly suggest you get rid of that ASUS Live Update software.
Do a manual update on your drivers instead.

Okay. I'm thinking I'll go with the uninstalling the ASUS Live Update software. But just wondering, will I miss out on anything important if I do that? I'm assuming not if you're telling me I can do the manual updates. I'm just worried I'll mess something up. Like I said, I'm no good at this.

Also, I kinda forgot I asked this question. Hence why it's taken me so long to notice I had replies. I don't even know how to work this site really. -_-
