    OK!

We got a Clean install of Win7 whitout any unusefull utility.
Im on bios 211 and GSOD fix been done.
All energy saving thing been turn off on battery and AC.

I will install the Win7 PK1 if I see anything going wrong.
I will do this in step so that I can't be argu about this and that...

    ----------------------
Im tired to loose my precious time on this!!!!
Im trading full time 24/24, and bought myself a cpu to work, not watch porn or play game.
If I calcul my pay rates, and the time I pass fixing this CPU, I would have paid twice of those....

    Wish me luck

I would have erase the games but since its windows program....

    ------------

Edit - no frezze for last 24hrs.
On this installation I did remove the creative stuff as the module AEX some that go whit it.
CPU look way cooler since last install - keyboard dosen't even get warm and I did play a third shooter this week-end...
    Woooooooooo! LOL

    No issue until now...

    ------------

Edit : 48hrs whitout freeze, Im strating my trading week, I will let you know if I have issue this week.
    Later

i'm glad it's been running stable for you. you can use gpu-z to monitor the GPU temperature and have it record a log so you can tell if the gpu is overheating but it seems to be working well so far.

    Hi Mason,

    Thx for the follow up!

This been more then 72hrs whitout lockup or any trouble, another 48hrs and I will consider this as fixed.
I even feel the cpu to be way cooler... no joke, keyboard aint even warm as it was before.

I am amaze how drivers/bios can afect a cpu!
I think the creative and AEX program were the trouble since I had done a clean install before this attemp but keeping those 2.
    Not this time.

Not much more to say, my currency chart are fluide and I am not loosing my study on them each 40 min!
Im starting to like this cpu.... LOL

If I can say a little something, I think a quality compagny like Asus should verify the setting of their system before make the distribution...

In the other hands, you guys over this forums are awsome and very hepfull.
    Thx again! Take care Mason!

Well just 5 minutes ago I had a system lock.

I had two browser sessions open (Google Chrome in one, Google Chrome Plus as the other). Both had flash games running, and I had a DVD playing on Windows Media Player.

GPU temp on reboot was showing 56 degrees C. I couldn't read it at the lockup point. Windows event logs didn't register any abnormal issues.

Since I've setup on the SSD, I haven't taken the time to load all my programs yet, so this is a pretty fresh windows installation.

I did the vbios update and installed the most recent catalyst drivers (I believe). The video Driver Version itself is 8.850.0.0.

If anyone has any suggestions for me to try, I'm willing to give anything a shot.

Unfortunately, there's not a lot of information to go on here, however I would like to point something out:

Recent revision of browsers and Flash use hardware acceleration, which writes directly to the hardware via the driver interface. This can provide a nice performance boost, but also opens the system to potential stability issues if not implemented properly. System locks come from driver and hardware issues, and I suspect that is what is happening here. Too many discrete hardware media streams + DRM from the video playback + Chrome hardware acceleration = resource conflict = BOOM.

Thanks for the response Chastity. I had been reading about Hardware acceleration in flash as a possible suspect. I'll try shutting it off as a test. I can't say I'll be completely happy with that, but true, if there are too many data streams from one resource, something has to give I guess (Shoot, I should know that, I went to school for electronics.. granted that was more than 10 years ago).

I'll report back in a week or so on the progress.

If indeed cooling is the issue, then a solid cooling stand may help. I now have 3 of these, both my laptops are on them as perma stands and one boxed for travel. Trust me on this, it rocks!

I do not work for cooler master, I am a hard core user, I own a G73JH and a MSI GT735 both are setup on my desk with these stands, and I have one for travel. If you are having any cooling issues this may be a worthy purchase.
