Hi guys, I have been searching these forums and googled and youtubed on how to clean the inside of my laptop, but i did not find anything. I have a weird feeling that in time, there will be enough dust in there to block the vents... you know, the old story. If someone can give me a tip on how i may clean the coolers, or the inside, would be awesome.

First off, welcome to the forums! 🙂

Now, on to real business. Disassemble the entire computer (make sure you are out of warranty) and carefully clean the grates and the fans. If the computer is running cool (hwinfo64 should tell you the temps), then don't bother. If you don't smoke or have pets, then you shouldn't have that much crud in your fans. Fish aren't a problem, but cats are a hazard to your computer.

I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

My method is pretty simple and I think it is okay. Shut off your laptop and take out your battery. I then blow air into the right side of the vents (with the back of the laptop facing you) and I then use a vacuum on the exhaust vent to collect any dust. ALSO make sure you are grounded and yeah, feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi again, unfortunately my warranty is still available, i just bought the laptop ~4 months ago, so i can't take it apart except the undercover. So you think the best solution is to blow air in one side while vacuuming on the other side to suck the dust. that seems a pretty good method. when i had the laptop brand new the temperature was aproximately 37 degrees, now it is 39-41 sometimes. I don't have a cat, but there is a lot of smoke where i live. why would that be a bad thing?

The tar and ash (particulates) in cigarette smoke get stuck to the fan blades and heat-sink fins. Same reason that it is bad for your lungs. I would advise against blowing air into the fans, because you can damage then with the high RPMs, and cigarette smoke isn't like like dust, it sticks to the parts in there.

Thank you for the kind replies. Yes i have thought about the compressed air damaging the fans, that's why i just bought a compressed air spray, you know, those cans of air.They aren't as strong as the compressors... and i will blow the air very carefully into the vents, from a distance of a few centimeters.
