Hi guys, I have an odd error to report. Unfortunately I am unaware if it's been posted before and I think it's also rather hard to reproduce. I seem to think the issue is driver related. But it could also be virus related or something. I never install antivirus.
Alright first of all, what's wrong, right? Problem is, when I opem my pc which has windows 7 x64 ultimate in it, all my graphics cards will run 100% the moment I log in to my computer, from the very moment I hit power button and they will never stop, yes, there's no way of stopping the cards from running 100% 7/24. It of course, scared me as I run quad crossfire reference 7970s, you can imagine how loud the fans will go up when overworked. One more thing, when these cards are running at 100% for a few minutes, if I am to turn on MSI Afterburner, it automatically activates my user fan profile (which is normal) and the fan speed on all 4 cards go 75% giving me a huge jumpscare. You know how I solved the issue? I reformatted. Now the issue happened twice. I don't remember which version of drivers I had back then, it probably was 11.12 beta but don't quote me on that and now I was running 13.2beta6. I've switched back to 13.1 and no issues back then. From the day previous to the day the issue began happening I only did two major things in my software. One thing was to upgrade my drivers to 13.2b6, the other was to install and play Crysis 3 a bit. I have never overclocked the cards mind you, ever. I don't feel the need for it. And yes, before I forget, my system, there you go:
    Core i7 3930K
    Rampage 4 Extreme
    Corsair H100
    4xSapphire 7970 reference
    Kingston HyperX 2x4GB 1600Mhz CL9
    Thermaltake XT Gold 1475W (TPX-1475M)
    Dual OCZ Vertex 4 128/256
    WD Caviar Black 2TB
    CM Cosmos II.
    Win7x64.

PS: I also remember two explorer.exe files running on my system at the same time back when the cards were acting out. I don't know if this is noteworthy but there you go.

hello everyone, maybe someone has an idea concerning my problem with eyefinity/crossfire

    system:
    Asus Crosshair IV Mainboard
    AMD Phen II 965@3.9 Ghz
    2xHD 7950 @ 1Ghz
    8 GB RAM
    Win7x64
tried Cat 13.1 and until 13.3beta3
    3x1080p monitor, horitontal eyefinity

    problem:
in Assassins Creed 3 it was not possible for me to get eyefinity and crossfire work simultaniously. When crossfire is aktive and I start the game, the right and left monitor are black, the game only on the center monitor. Both graphic cards are working (GPU-Z).
If I disable CF globally before startign AC3, everything is fine and Eyefinity is working properly.

It does not work, if I disable CF with a profile for AC3, CF is inaktiv in the game, but eyefinity does not work. I also tried setting other CF profiles, from other AC games, did not work either.

it would be great if eyefinity and CF are working at the same time...

    any ideas?

    Hi Celta,

As far as I can tell, Crossfire scaling is poor in Assassin's Creed 3 (as well as in previous AC games). I haven't checked the latest drivers, but the month after this game was released, there was no Crossfire profile for it. I tried several other profiles and none of them worked well, so I ended creating a custom profile to completely disable Crossfire in this game. I had to do the same for previous Assassin's Creed games. These games had Crossfire profiles but they didn't scale properly and most of the time they worked better in single GPU mode. I don't think there will be any performance improvements in this game when using Crossfire, so I'm afraid the best you can do is to disable Crossfire (sadly).

I have seen the left & right monitors in black problem, but only when using Eyefinity 3x1 plus a 4th monitor in extended mode. As far as I am aware, this behavior completely depends on Ubisoft, because they aren't using the driver calls that AMD offers to properly detect multimonitor configurations.

Doom 3 BFG crashes at 5670x1080 no matter the OC and voltage on GPU.

I just finished the first level (around 45 minutes) with no problems in Eyefinity. When are you getting the crash? Are you getting any error messages or something at the event viewer?

Nothing really, just that the exe had an error.

Works just fine at lower res.

Also - I gave up completely on FC3. Ubisoft can't help. I'm beginning to suspect my graphics card, but then again, it runs all the 3dmax 13 etc just fine, as well as the new OCCT GPU test.

I might need a windows reinstall
