Ok. i currently own a g75vw, and i really need more performance, in gaming so would it be possible to upgrade the GPU
from (660m) to a 670mx?

And if so were would i purchase one? and what would need to be done to have this upgrade?
Thanks you 🙂

i think it is impossible to do this.

The cost of doing this would be just shy of under $1000.

I can't remember everything about this process, but what I remember is since Optimus is back in the VX model you would be paying for not just the card, heat sink, cooling adjustments (bios related temperature thresholds to fan speed settings, voltages, link adaption and pairing) into bios flashing to accustom the 670MX.. possibly even the VX model motherboard. Not to mention you will need to modify drivers to install them as support for the 670MX isn't quite there yet.

In all honesty, it would be better to sell or return (if within policy) what you have now, and purchase a VX model instead.

Believe me, I would like to do this upgrade as well. But the cost doesn't outweigh coming out ahead of it. You basically will be paying more for less.

@dreamonic, thank you for the excellent answer! +rep! Allow me to second his statement about just getting a new computer. Also, note that the ASUS laptops use a proprietary MXM design 😞 so you would have to find someone selling his G75VX's video card, which is highly unlikely at this point, considering how new the laptops are.
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!
