Hey Guys!
I Have to buy a new VGA , and I'm wondering :

- Which card should I choose and why?
Gtx 680 DC2T 2 GB or 7970 R.O.G. Matrix 3 GB (non Platinum)
I play BF3 Online the most,ultra detail , 4xmsaa ,1920x1080.

I'm on a R4F , i7 3820 3,8 Ghz,16 GB(4x4) G skill Ripjaws Z 2133 Mhz CL9,Corsair GS 800W and a single monitor - PHILIPS - 248C3LHSB 24" LED 2ms 75 Hz .

only for gaming.

Any suggestion? Other proposals ?

Hey,

If you look at the following benchmark from LegitReviews you can see the GTX680 will be sufficient for playing BF3 at max settings on your monitor resolution:

Since the pricing is close .. I would say the 7970 .. with a little wiggle room left for OC'n.c.

If you can get your hands on that Matrix I would. It's the fastest card out for the price since it overclocks like a beast. I was trying to locate one but failed, so I settled for the Asus gtx 680 4gb edition. Not bad but it's not the Matrix.

Thanks for the replies.
From the benchmark screen I see a GTX 680 dc2t "3GB" . image error? (I mean for the "3GB GDDR5", )
If I want to sli or crossfire in future , which I have to choose?
For the energy consumption ..I see the gtx 680 consumes less than the matrix , but maintains high performance ..and..AMD scalingbetter in crossfire ...
This is the cards I am referring to
Matrix : http://rog.asus.com/graphics-card/matrix/matrix-hd7970-3gd5/
GTX : http://www.asus.it/Graphics_Cards/NVIDIA_Series/GTX680DC2T2GD5/

There's other cards which I have to look? ( gtx 670 ? 7970 dc2t? The 7970 matrix Platinum?)
And for the memory, 2 GB GDDR5 are enough for BF3? or the upcoming Crisys 3 ?
Thanks in advance , I'm very confused from all that reviews and videos!!

edit.

I found this,take a read

Hi, what I have learn from gaming is more VRAM is better if you want to go Full HD or WQHD and maximum in game setting. Go grap a GTX 680 4GB, you won't regret it.

I have to make an order next week , and I'm not sure of which of these cards I should choose..
And what about the Asus Matrix Platinum HD7970 3GB GDDR5 ? It's Better than the GTX 680 DirectCu II top,or the 4GB version?

Without OC the gtx 680 seems to work better than the 7970,I've heard about some artifacts from the 7970 with BF3 , IDK Nvidia, too many forums about that, please help.

You don't need a 4gb card for single monitor gaming...

OP - You won't be unhappy with a 680 TOP edition, while the Matrix does beat it slightly in overall performance you're not missing out on THAT much if you're willing to trade a couple fps in gaming. My Matrix Platinum averages around 85fps on Ultra 1920x1080 res bf3 - a 680 TOP will average 79 according to that benchmark pic.
