MVG or PSU ? no boot unless PSU Off/On

Hi

When i shutdown windows 7 , MVG leds turn black ( unlike sleep) .
When pressing the onboard Start Button - no boot .
Unless I switch off the PSU for 10secs or so ... than it boots .

I don't think its an issue of non/overclocked state . The boot stage is simply too basic/early.

The big question is : MVG or PSU .

its the only PSU I have atm
The PSU is elderly 400W Enermax Liberty which provides exemplary (!!) voltages . all withing 5% of rated .

It may be relevant : I am also unable to run the memory at its rated 2400Mhz, even after GSkill forum good support.

Thanks

My bet is on the PSU. You're putting your system at risk with that PSU. Although Zotac alone recommends a 600W PSU as a minimum, if you grab a PSU calculator and do the maths, your setup easily pulls like 350W.

old PSUs can do that easily ... besides 400W with a 660Ti would be on the edge (probably below specs amps wise) even when this PSU was new.

First, you can help to check your motherboard bios have alerady upgrade to latest version?
If convenient, you can consider replacing a power supply for testing

Thanks guys

Latest 1408 BIOS.

I think its the PSU , because last night the leds stayed on after shutdown, and boot was fine this morning.
There is no other anomaly I notice ( beside the 2400mhz fail ) .

I did game last night for over an hour , watching temps on my netbook with ROGconnect . exemplary perf.

So, i'll hunt for a PSU bargain .. I still got time as i'm waiting for red leds and have to re do paint ( spray on brush paint = bad ) .

Ok lol. Just thought maybe K.S.P. was more convenient for you since you can just walk into the store and buy it. 😛

A good size for now and for the future is 750W of a good brand. That will be enough for pretty much all single cards now and for the foreseeable future.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.
