Aside from Nvidia not providing proper Surround support for 3 monitors and generally fail drivers for Windows 8 and gaming, I've not had any issues with 8.
Which is good because it's the first Microsoft product I've purchased, in my life. Considering how cheap it was, I figure it was easier than keeping up with all the keygens, VLC Keys, and updates/patches to watch out for.
You'll want to upgrade the Bios to the CAP format, which takes advantage of the UEFI support in Windows 8. Quicker Booting etc. I don't run raid as I've never seen a practical use for it. Slap your data on a drive and be done with it I say!
I run 2 SSD's and a 1TB back up for software, movies etc.
the overall feel of 8 is no different than 7, once you install that little tidbit I linked at the top of the post. It's worth the 3 bucks for an ounce of sanity.
