Welcome to the Republic of Gamers boards, Takillyn.

To be completely honest, although your hardware might seem old, your pc is still pretty capable of playing all of the modern day games. The greatest improvement that you could make is getting a newer GPU. Something along the lines of a GTX 680 or a HD7970.

Chino's recommendation are dead on, and no your CPU won't bottleneck your system but your current GPU sure is.

Good Call although I can suggest a newer GPU and use that 480 as a Dedicated PhysX card...it wouldn't matter ether whather the new card was an AMD or nVidia because there is a Patch out that enables a nVidia card to work with an AMD Card as a PhysX card giving you all of the Performance of the AMD Video as well as PhysX from nVidia. Truthfully that would be about the best upgrade you could do.

680 would be my choices as well. Just make sure it will fit in your case.
