Different VBIOS on GTX680-DC2T-2GD5 SLI setup

Hi

Just bought my second card to run SLI on my RIVE.
According to GPU Tweak v2.2.8.1 the BIOS on these two card are different. See attachment.
Does it matter? The update say it's "up to date" despite different BIOS on these two cards.

Are you sure that the second card you bought was also "Top"?

Hi

Yes i do belive so. 🙂 The "TOP" card is the only one as far as i know that uses 3 slot.
What now? Any thoughts?

Both the TOP and non-TOP versions are 3 slots 😉

Can you take then out a check their label?

I've noticed the exact same thing with my TOP sli setup. Though i didnt mention it since i thought it was just a newer BIOS.

I've also noticed when running FurMark 1.10.3 with SLI enabled that the new card (card 2) has a core peak at 1188 Mhz, while the "old" card peaks at 1241 Mhz. I don't know if this is normal in SLi, or has something to do with the BIOS version.

Edit: Just to be clear. ver. 80.04.09.00.AS04 is the right for this card ?

Check the stickers on both cards to see if they're identical. They should have matching speeds when in SLI.

Thx for reply

I'm at work right now, but i'll check the sticker out as soon as possible. But, according to GPU Tweak it is reconised as "top".....
And the card takes up 3 slot. What other ASUS card do that?
The speed is a concern then ?

I think all of the DC2 2GB 680s take up 3 slots. There is a DC2 "Normal" 2GB edition (GTX680-DC2-2GD5) with a Base/Boost clock of 1006MHz/1058MHz, an "Overclocked" 2GB edition (GTX680-DC2O-2GD5) with a Base/Boost clock of 1019MHz/1084MHz, a "Top" 2GB edition (GTX680-DC2T-2GD5) with a Base/Boost clock of 1137MHz/1201MHz, and a "Normal" 4GB edition (GTX680-DC2-4GD5 with a Base/Boost clock of 1006MHz/1058MHz. The first three (2GB) are three slot cards and the last one (4GB) is a two slot card. You should be able to compare the clock speed on the two you have and if they are both 1137/1201 then they should both be "Top" models (alternately if you register your serial numbers with Asus @ vip.asus.com it should show you which model the serial number matches). The serial numbers should be on the box.

I just cross referenced it with mine and mine is running 80.04.47.00.AS01 the same as one of your cards. Did you buy the other one a long time ago or something? Or did you get them both at the same time? I got mine about a month or so ago and I should get my second one tomorrow. I'll see if the new one has a different VBIOS version that the original.
