I plan on trying to keep my G53SX for as long as possible, unless something significant breaks. Then, I hope to get a G46 with 1080p!
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

Top brand, IMO, for their support and no-questions-asked RMA for faulty modules...not that I've had many bad sets from them (one 4GB Dominator GTX desktop module two years ago: was replaced within the week, with a free new RAM cooler too...very nice!).

So why can't they release an upgradeable gpu on the new rog laptops?? Is it just not possible? Or would it hinder Asus from selling more laptops? It surely can;t be a cooling issue can it??

That's pretty sweet. I will keep them in mind if I ever choose to upgrade to 32 GB. I don't have reason yet, but if I find that 16 GB isn't enough, I will keep them in mind to get a set of matched pairs.

They don't want to. Have you tried taking apart a RoG recently? They try to make it as hard for consumers to do things themselves.

More money if you have to buy a $2000 laptop rather than a $400 GPU.

Problem is, they used to make them user-serviceable, but the markets have shifted to thinner and lighter systems, and users are less willing to upgrade their systems themselves. The market for easy user upgradable laptops is shrinking, and like any other company, ASUS is following the money.

Asus should change their way of thinking to thinner and lighter systems, especially rog products. As most rog owners really wouldn't care for thinner and lighter if they have better components in there.
I disagree that users are less willing to upgrade their systems, as they probably don't know how, but more and more are starting to learn. I had a couple of mates who now have learned how to upgrade their desktops and are shocked at how computer retailers sell their products for so much, with crappy componenets.

Its not cos people are not willing, its simply because they don't know how. I think Asus needs to click to this otherwise they will just be another apple product and later may have to merge with apple as business will go down. lol they could be re-named As-apple...

My g73JH gave me 2 years 3 months before needing RMA from ASUS. It's still running strong, and in fact, cooler than it did before I had problems with it. Runs Tribes Ascend and SC2 on highest settings without issue.
