G73JH Seagate ST9500420AS AAM + APM

I have a G73JH with Seagate ST9500420AS that has 2SDM1 Firmware. I was told, if I install FW version 5SDM1, it will give my HDD a performance increase. With 2SDM1 FW, using HDDScan(via New Task->Features->IDE Features), my AAM is Disabled and APM is 128.

My questions: Are these settings correct for default(if not what are they) and what will they be with the newer FW? Any info greatly appreciated.

AAM is disabled over AHCI automatically, but should be enabled under IDE mode. An APM setting of 128 is max performance, which is what you want. So flash away and be good. 🙂

Has anyone had any problems after flashing their HDD to V5(5SDM1) FW, that they didn't have before? If so, what problems did you run into and which FW version did you have before you flashed to V5?
