ASUS might be replacing my Maximus V Formula board...!

Hello,

As the title states, I have spoken with ASUS tech support and they are probably going to setup an advanced RMA with my board. Now my concern/question is:

Once I get my new board, is it necessary to format my system and install everything from scratch?

Or

Can I just “pop” in the new motherboard without needing to install the OS and the drivers since it’s the same exact board?

Thanks guys!

A reformat shouldn't be necesssary assuming that you keep all your bios boot options the same.

you can also try not to reformat it and observe it , if some error show then format,, i'll do this in my office when i got a busted mobo i don't reformat the PC i just change with the same mobo (exactly same model) and it work.
