This may or may not be the right place for this, but I didn't return any results when searching.

So, I'm experiencing some nasty dead pixel blobs on my LCD display and looking to replace it. I was wondering if anyone knew if you can replace a display with a better resolution one? The stock LCD in this model was a crappy native1366x768, great laptop but terrible display. (Gift from the wife, so I can't complain too much.)

Anyone know if I can replace it with a better display?
Do any of you know any reputable sites for aftermarket laptop displays?
