Keyboard backlight won't turn on and desktop wallpaper is defaulted...

So I've run into this issue before but I forget how I figured it out...my keyboard lights flash on startup and then go off, and also my desktop walpaper is defaulted to the Asus ROG wallpaper..also several F functions dont work propperly. I thought it was in safe mode but I hit F6 on startup and booted normally but still got the same error. I dont beleive its the ATK for my keyboard either, the solution had something to do with correctly selecting an option on my startup. Can anyone help?

Using ROG G53SW series windows 7

Are you using the latest ATK Package Drivers?

The ATK package *is* what controls the backlight and function keys. Perhaps you changed something that allowed the ATK to function normally. I'm not sure what you would have changed but freshly installing the ATK should fix whatever the issue is.
