Maximus V Extreme pci layout / sound issue

I have the mother board all hooked up running 2 580 gtx in sli and have a creative sound blaster sound card the problem that im running in to is the layout of the board have triyed 3 different layouts with my last rebuild running in to problems with the
sound card
frist started with the recommend config first 580 in the 1 pci slot 2nd 580 in the 3 pci slot and that works for sli but when I
put the sound card in in the bottom pci slot so that the cards get proper air flow the 6th slot the 2nd graphics card is no longer seen by the bios i can no longer run the sound card in the 5th slot put 2 zalman vf3000 coolers on the cards so each eat up 3 sockets
the other part of this is when i remove the sound card and try to run onboard i get no audio from the standard green 3.5mm jack on the back of the board 😞

ps have tried running the slots in 2gen mode no luck

any ideas i know this is a 2 part question

Welcome to the Republic of Gamers forums, Skiman2007.

Can you specify the exact model of your GTX 580s and your Creative sound card?

Could the sound card drivers be interfering?
