Exclamation Goodbye ASUS RAMPAGE "IV" . The RAMPAGE "V" with Intel X99/C610 debut soon.

Source from ASUS locally near me said

    1. ASUS RAMPAGE IV Series are discontinue now.

    2. ASUS will release the next generation RAMPAGE V EXTREME Q2 2013 with Intel X99/C610 chipset.

    3. Intel Core i7 3980X maybe the last CPU that support RAMPAGE IV series. According to his mail to me yesterday.

ME :: Why people say hard to buy RAMPAGE IV Series motherboard now? What's going on ?

ASUS MAN :: The Rampage extreme board has been discontinued. It is not due to the quality of the board itself, but the fact that Intel's newer processors won't support the socket of the board. We are discontinuing the board to focus on newer socket technology."
So, Everybody let's prepare your pocket money for news mobo " ASUS RAMPAGE V SERIES " .

No. IB-E will be supported. When he's talking about new socket, he means for Haswell-E. We knew that already.

Nodens does that mean that any SB-E cpu will work in an IB-E socket? just with limited functionality?

I don't think anyone knows this yet, we won't know until the launch whether or not there will be that backward compatibility W/older CPUs.

SB-E and IB-E use the same socket. 2011. UEFI update will be needed for IB-E support though.

I see. Well I guess that's good for consumers. Cheaper upgrade options for better tech, then you can just purchase better CPUs later if you need the extra features.
