That's exactly what we're saying here. The RIVE is not discontinued. We still have a way to go until RVE.

Yes, or the RVE will be for LGA2011 (SB-E and IB-E) as it was for the RIIE and RIIIE (LGA1366)

its funny how you say it's discontinued when it's still a current product, considering you posted this info in march, and the said product is still current and purchasable.

Lots of wrong information in this thread. Intel is going to release IB-E soon. There will be no new chipset for IB-E (unlike Z77 that Intel released for IB), X79 will work with IB-E (Intel stated this long time ago) although a BIOS update will be required. So no reason for ASUS (or any other manufacturer) to release new mobos for IB-E (new model with just updated BIOS ?)

But why should ASUS cancel Rampage IV production right now ? Makes no sense. People will need boards for IB-E !

X99 is the newly announced chipset dedicated to Haswell-E (and probably its succesor) but Haswell-E and X79 are to be released somewhere in late 2014 - in more than a year or so ! Then we will probably see Rampage V and Rampage IV may be indeed phased out in steps (note that Intel will not immediately stop production of IB-E after Haswell-E is released).

No, Asus already released it. It's P9X79-E WS. But they do not advertise IB-E for now.

Asus also released the RIIIE after the RIIE, even though Intel didn't replace the X58 chipset. If Asus thinks they can bring some kind of optimization, added features, or increase sales, they will release a new extreme board.

Our R4es have been able to run IVY-e since may when 4004 came out. JJ told me during the max 6 conference that the r4e wasn't going anywhere for a long time. And straight from his mouth IVY-E is for x79... The processors weren't ready for x79. That's why you get pcie 3.0 ready and not compatible. If there is a R5 to be launched with IVY it will just be for updating OC features and maybe fresh heatsink design.

^^^ A little bit more "incorrect" information....Early 2014 Haswell-E will be X99 Chipset with 2011 Socket (2011 Socket NOT compatible with present 2011 Socket).
