    2. disconnect your power and take out your battery;
    3. press the power button for 1 to 2 minutes;
    4. plug in your power source (without battery);
    5. press and hold ctrl+home key and turn your laptop on.

    repeat step 2 to 5 up until 20 times (more information in this thread).

    good luck.
    It does work. It's just that if the computer goes to sleep, i have to reboot it. Cause it won't wake up.
    It sleeps like it should, but when i press the powerbutton it flashes the leds and looks like it woke up for 0.5 sec. But then dies, and next time you press the power it reboots.

    Do you mean you method 2 would work?

    Practically yes. But it is really annoying since if i leave my computer for a while or put it in the bag and go somewhere. All my for example websites is lost.

    Simply annoys me enough to RMA it. Actually since the screen also is worthless and Asus can't (maybe?) fix it. I'm considering giving it back to the shop and money back. I won't remove the sleep function since the battery wont handle 2+ hours idling.

    perhaps you have disabled the hibernation file ? that would explain that issue with it not waking up.

    Two things:

    1. My parents bought a G74, after really liking my G53 (I have a G55 now), and after about 7 months, the screen went bad. RMA'd it to Asus, and they had it back the next week, with a new screen.

    2. Their G74 will sometimes not turn on the display after coming back from hibernating. They have to hard-shutdown the laptop, and reboot, and then it comes back on. Doesn't happen everytime, but every now and then.

    I haven't had a single issue with the G53 or G55, fwiw.

    I feel your pain, and I hate to say this, if they don't get it right the first time, they never will. I'm not going to take over your thread, so I'm just going to link, if your interested in my experience with Asus RMA (Or As I call it, Really Marketing and Advertising, Because everything they say is just that, words not actions). http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread...-Major-Mistake . Long story short you should get a refund If you still can.

    Censorship by the mods? I guess when individuals blast ASUS on these forums and describe their defects and sh**y RMAs it is tolerated, but when someone starts to produces statistics about these problems they get nervous? Thats too bad.

    As Chris mentioned this forum draws people looking for help so such a poll would be based on extreme selection bias. It's not statistically sound methodology and the results would be highly inaccurate so yes they would certainly be upset about someone misrepresenting their products on their own forum.

    Individual cases are different because they are based (as far as anyone knows) on actual experience and therefore aren't inaccurate.
