New Build - whats your thoughts

Hi Guys,

I am looking to do my first build, i have a fair budget and was looking at a black / red type theme. Don't know why - just looks fresh.

Here is my ideas on parts etc. Let me know if i should change anything, or if the pieces would even fit together. I am planning on doing this project over the next few months.

Budget: $4000K ($aus)
Main uses of intended build: Bit of everything, inc. gaming, video etc.
Parts required: everything
Previous build information (list details of parts): using an out of date laptop
Monitor resolution: none as yet
Storage requirements: meh...
Will you be overclocking: maybe - would love to try my hand at it.
Any motherboard requirements (no. of USB, Xfire/SLI, fan headers):
Extra information about desired system: here is what i have so far.

Case : CoolerMaster Storm Enforcer
mobo : ASUS Maximus V Extreme Motherboard
CPU - Intel Core i7 3770K
GPU - ASUS GeForce GTX 690 4GB
Memory : G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-14900CL10D-16GBXL (2x8GB) 16GB DDR3
SSD : Intel 335 Series 180GB SSD
HDD : Hitachi Ultrastar A7K3000 2TB 7200RPM Enterprise 0F12455
Cooler : CoolerMaster X6 CPU Cooler
PSU : Antec High Current Gamer 900W Power Supply HCG-900

Aesthetics : Bitspower UV Reactive Cable Sleeve Kit Red

That amounts to about $2850 approx. so far. I haven't looked at monitor or peripherals yet.

from my understanding of his wait, then mabye yes, and its a new series of boards coming too.
and there is coming a new series on socket 1150 ( if i dont remember all wrong )

If you go Maximus, only go Extreme if you´re into OC for the sake of OC. Other than that the Formula has enough bells and whistles and costs one 3rd less (around these parts, at least).
The best Intel SSD I read is the 520 series, they seem to be close to cracking the Sandforce issues with that series. Samsung are non-Sandf., from reading I´d recommend that. Just stuck one in my new rig myself pending boot-up.
