I have the original. I think, to go for the moded one, makes sense only if you run on RAID 0, with two SSDs. Trim works fine as it is for standalone configuration.

I know - I've been lurking to see if there were any horror stories, and fighting the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy. Finally caved and made the leap.

Been running 1707 for a few weeks now and love it. I feel it is more stable a UEFI. So far no unasked for BIOS changes that I did not make. RAID0 has not blown up, everytime I go into UEFI I check to make sure Sata config screen says RAID and it does. Been testing it with manual Vcore 4.8ghz @ 1.410v. Prime 24hours stable no Whea errors feels snappy and responsive under load. So I am now in process of setting offset voltage. Going to run 24/7 at 4.8ghz. It is getting warm where I live so this will be my top OC and if Summer gets really hot this year (I live in the desert) I will take it to 4.7 on offset and be happy. But as far as BIOS it is the best one yet.

Plus lots of lights.

no probs here either, running SSD in RAID0 (intel6G ports) under UEFI boot mode and daily 4.9GHz offset. I love this BIOS so far, it allows me to run a fully stable 4.9GHz (with EIST and C1E turned on) at +0.145 offset versus +0.185 on former BIOSes (all of them), with Ultra High 75% LLC. pretty awesome thing, keep my chip cool and yet powerful.

wasn't able to stabilize fully offset at 5.0GHz, but it could be my CPU not liking it or the voltage swings at such frequency. This CPU pretty much hits the multiplier wall at 5.1GHz on fixed vcore, so I suspect it's just that, close to its limits.

1707 BIOS is solid and awesome. I just wish ASUS released officially an updated revision with 12.6 OROM+IRST, so people depending/relying on it wouldn't have to flash OROM modified BIOSes (based on 1707) via Flashback. that works too anyways

Installed 1707 today, and two of my four disks in RAID5 somehow got removed from the array. Intel tool shows two disks available for creating an array and two "missing" disks in my current array (the other two are still there). Serial numbers of the "missing" disks have ":0" appended to the actual, correct serial numbers.

I see the option to mark those two available disks as "spare," which is supposed to make the available for an array rebuild; however, before I do anything that could do more harm than good, I wanted to throw this one out to the group for some advice.

Thanks in advance for the help.
