I cloned my hdd to my samsung 840 250gb and the speeds seem off. The sequential read and writes are in line with what is expected but the 4k speeds are low . the seq are 496.6 read and 255.0 write. The 512k are 394.4 read and 245.5 write. The 4k are 23.30 read and 45.80 write. The 4k 32 are 248.6 read and 68.93 write. Also the drive benchmarks in magician are 257 seq read and 239 seq write while the random read is 69640 and write 12159. Anyone else have this problem?oh yeah the ssd is 17% full

Well what benchmark are you using? Diff benchmarks will give you diff numbers.

Crystal disk mark 3.0.2 x64. The samsung magician is low to seq read is 392 and write239. Random read 72354 and write is 16850. Would alignment issues cause this or does it slow down that much being 18% full? The numbers on reviews seem to be so much higher especially in the 4k.

have you let your magician software Optimize your new SSD?, If so and your still not getting what you think you should be you might want to jump into a SamSung Forum where others may be dealing with the same thing. Keep us posted as I am looking to upgrade my SSD to a 840 pro 512 gb in the near future

I figured out my issue. My partitions are not aligned correctly per as ssd. I tried a partition manager and all that does is send me to the recovery screen and back to square one. Maybe I should just buy a copy of windows 8 and do it right, of course this is getting to the point where buying the cheaper model wasn't worth it.

Thanks. I tried the mini tool partition wizard but than it took me to the recovery screen when I rebooted. Two questions does paragon do that to and if so will a recovery disc fix that?

As for samsung customer support they get negative stars. I called them up at 4:40pm and typed in the appropriate numbers to get the the ssd help section. The lady proceeds to tell me she's in the TV section sends me to the fridge section who dispatches me to laptops and than he sends me to microwaves than to laptops and than I get put on hold for fifteen minutes. Guess what time those jerks close? 5 central so they gave me a runaround until they closed so they wouldn't have to work five minutes late. I figured something was up after getting redirected the third or fourth time but what can you do?

Can I install my system image disc's to my ssd or if I go with a backup solution like Acronis would that work? Got it to boot and everything's aligned but the crystal disk mark 4k writes are still low but the as ssd scores are improved and the samsung magician performance benchmarks are fine, not sure which one to believe. Does it matter which hdd bay it's in because I'm in the second one right now?
