1) Power: Besides the 24pin which others should I have connected? There is an 8pin a 4pin and the 4pin Molex EZ Plug.
Do I need to connect them all/will it hurt anything if I do?
My power supply has the 24pin(which is plugged in)
an 8pin (which says something about intel in the manual but is marked CPU2, but is plugged in)
and another "8"pin which is two 4pins split. One half says CP (which is plugged in) the other the other half says U1
I also have the modular molex cable attached to the EZ Plug- which leads me too...

2) Molex- how much of what can I have plugged into one chain? As of right now I only have one plugged into the PSU with the rear fan, the front I/o panel and fan controller(CM Storm Trooper), and then into the EZ-Plug power on the motherboard

If anyone has the same motherboard...and MAYBE the same case, I could really use some help and would GREATLY appreciate it.:eek:

The only necessary power cables that you need to connect are the 24 pin and 8 pin power cables. Since your psu has two 8 pin cable apparently, having the 4 pin power cable plugged in certainly won't do any harm. You can disconnect the EZ_PLUG as long as you're not running a multiple gpu configuration.

As for the molex, they don't draw much power at all. You can leave it as it is. If you don't feel comfortable with that, you can use a separate molex for each component.

What is worrying me is that from the PSU, the 8pin one is marked CPU2 and the split 8pin (4pin/4pin) is marked CP/U1. Is the CP/U1 supposed to be in the 8pin port on the mobo? And the 8pin marked CPU2 is actually for running dual CPU's? Which would leave the 4pin port on the mobo unused. I'm not refering to the molex 4pin EZ-Plug. The 8pin cable is noted in the PSU manual as being for Intel 945/955 chipset.

Nope it would be cos older boards only had the 4pin for cpu then onto just 8 now both so the psu has that as cpu1 so it's for both the older boards its just a labelling thing. Don't sweat it at all it the same cable same draw etc
I'd use the 8&4pin though makes it all more stable on the board.

That's reassuring but I just took the time to scan and mark up some pages out of the manuals for clarification, so here they are so everyone has the same data as I do 🙂 190131901419015

The two 8 pin power cables are colored in blue. So one of the them goes into the 8 pin power connector on the motherboard and the other goes into the 4 pin power connector. And you're good to go.
