Hello

I literally just recieved my new Crosshair V Formula-Z motherboard and it looks awesome.

I do have 1 question though, on the board next to the 24 pin power connectors it has a "socket" labled USB3_56. How do I use this usb socket given it just has "pins"

Thank You

Those sockets are used with Headers that you have to buy seperately. Like the old PCI slot ones of days gone by.

Yep exactly like a separate card or built in the case, mine has two usb3 on the top with that connector.
Plenty of USB on board though so it's not a "have" to use feature.

Yes, as said above these will be for external USB3. There are 4 already on the back so if you need more you would have to buy the extra external component.
I don't expect many users of this board would have connected to this to be honest.

Actually most of the better quality newer cases come with the proper plug to use that socket for the front USB connections.

I just bought and put my CVFZ in my CM Storm Trooper case last weekend- it has the usb ports on the front/top of the case with a header which I connected /shrug why not 😉 plugging in the front is more convenient then reaching around and plugging in the back.
