    Question G46VW SSD upgrade DIY...

    Eh guys... yeah- first post.

I've gone back a few pages looking for guys who have actually pulled the trigger on the upgrade from HDD to SSD and though I've found some that talk about the obvious merrits I'm running a bit short on information to do the transition. I have found some youtube videos on how to disassemble it- so we're good there. I'm confident in my ability to get the hardware sorted out. Where I'm lacking is in moving everything from the HDD over to the SSD.

It was easy with my desktop- just plug it in... click a button (it was an intel drive with the data migration software that worked flawlessly)... and poof! My performance felt like it jumped up 50% and I haven't looked back.

    Laptop- different story...

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the move? Challenges?

    Thanks in advance.

the move is as simple as cloning the hdd to ssd. It's possible to use the data migration software and poof it again while you have the hdd out

A lot of the drives come with a USB attachment for the SSD for the cloning process... If yours doesn't come with one, I have 2, so PM if in you're in the US.
