Asus G72GX problems.

Hello all. i am Having many issues with my G72GX. I keep getting constant BSOD. It seems each one with many different
reasons as to why i am getting them. The more constant one is memory_ management, some times ill just be surfing the net and i get the bsod without a reason given. My other big problem it seems that if i turn of my computer i cant restart my laptop untill after a certain amount of time. It seems to lock up, i have to turn it off by holding the button due to the bsod. I will turn it on and the LED lights will turn on, but the laptop will do nothing. no display, no sound, it will just be there powered on. The fans seem to make this awful noise like if a plane was taking off as well. and if it does turn on the laptop will stall at the windows logo and get stuck, i need to retry restarting like 3 times before it will go to windows and i better hope i don't get bsod if it does. Sometimes the taking of battery and holding power trick will work to get the thing to actually restart and show me something on screem but sometimes it wont.

I have already removed programs from start up, restored to factory settings. I play games on it, they seem to play fine most of the time but sometimes the graphics will start flashing and it will give me the driver failed and recovered problem. I cant seem to figure out whats going on. Anybody have any clues.

You may have multiple issues. http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?28269-frequent-crashing-of-my-g74sx-has-recently-started-ha... discusses a strategy for troubleshooting BSOD's.

From your description, it sounds like a good place to start would be reseating your laptop's memory chips and running memtest86+ for at least 3 passes to confirm the memory is sound.

Then I would run an HDD diagnostic utility to confirm the HDD is healthy.

You may have multiple issues. Unfortunately, one of them sounds like the infamous "boot to black screen" issue. It is likely a hardware problem and the prognosis is not good - see http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?11968-G73JH-Black-screen-( .
