Zka, I wasn't a member when that competition started, so no wonder I missed it

Will frequent this forum more, and for the next OC Challenge at lest I know how to get Xp kind of working on the MVE now

Lot's of submissions from our team now, great fun! )

May I point your attention to a new benchmark until we will have the next Challenge: http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread...gue-Table-v1.0

    Hehe

Hmmm benchmark was no joke, heavy load on the poor cpu. Nice score Z

Seems like a high blck and pure mhz on mem sorta benchmark. Will get to testing some more. I'm getting rid of the H100i and getting a real custom loop btw, finally!

Planning on getting fullcovers for the matrix cards also.

And about RAM, it's the Samsung 1333Mhz - M378B5273CH0-CH9 that are the ones to go for correct? Damn, RAM prices have really gone up fast lately, best to get some asap!

For benchmarking you want some more stronger RAM... remind me, what's your platform?

    Z77, Maximus 5 Extreme, 3770K

Those Samsung IC's OC to 2666 on pretty tight timings. Samsung makes alot of memory. It's in everything, and these are the IC's that alot of the really expensive high-end-fancy-heatsink 2666 kits come with.

They're just binned higher in the fancy kit's, however the Ic's are very good, and most of them OC very high from what I understand.

Hiviz know's if these are the right ones, i'm pretty sure they are but just wanted to confirm.

Well, i can not say that I know those memory kits - never tried the Samsung ones...

However, a RAM kit which was tested for 1333MHz at CAS9, will be very hard to OC at 2666MHz... not impossible, but very hard... If you get a kit tested and certified at XMP 2666MHz it will depend only on your CPUs IMC... The fact that similar (not the same!!!) IC are in fancy kits, it does not mean that your particular one will go so high... there is a reason why your particular ones didn't got built in fancy kits...

With all those said, I do keep my fingers crossed, and I'm curious how high they will go...
