G46VW Occasionally Crashing

Djask

It seems sometimes, my G46VW will crash to a black screen, and I would have to boot it up again. I have no idea why this is happening. 😕

Hi Djask, quick question: did you install any new hardware or software? How about drivers? Anything that you think could contribute to the issue? I've not had that issue with mines but we'd need a bit more info before we can help you troubleshoot. 🙂 Try installing the latest Nvidia drivers in the interim and see if that helps your issue: http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-win8-win7-64bit-314.22-whql-driver.html

I had that happen once on mine, but it was after I plugged in my usb mouse. It hasn't happened again "Crossing fingers"..

the situation occurs at any random time, it crashed once when I was browsing the web, another time when I was skyping, but never when I was playing games or any other intensive task. And yes, I did install 2 new graphics drivers, including the 320.00 nvidia beta drivers, but it started crashing before that. I have windows 8 and i do overclock occasionally to around +135mhz on the gpu and +350mhz on the memory. Don't know if that accounts to the issue. And it happens when the computer has been on for a while. (3 - 4 hours)
