G53SX Running extremely hot

For the past month or so my laptop has been running extremely hot. The cpu gets to around 80 degrees Celsius when just watching youtube videos at times. the gpu is perfectly fine.

ive opened up my laptop to clean out dust but it was pretty much fine. Though i wasnt really sure where the heatsink was, i got to the back and didnt really see i all

im pretty sure my laptop is no longer under warrenty either..so is there anything i can do myself? or is it just ****ed

could you check your CPU loading? i think if CPU 80 degrees under loading, it is normal.

Pull up task manager, and see how much CPU is being used. Also, if your computer is no longer under warranty, you may want to disassemble the computer (pretty difficult, just FYI), clean out the fans, and reapply thermal grease. The best grease for this is Arctic Diamond, from what I've heard, though anything from a major vendor is good. You won't need a lot.

Yup, take it apart, clean out the fans/heatsinks, then replace the thermal paste. It will run much better. Not doing this and continuing to run hot is going to damage the video card.
